A stores' overall sales areas may differ from store to store. Some are naked and open while others are busy with a lot of products, shelves and displays. The main goal is making the lighting go hand in hand with the store's floor plan, store brand and the atmosphere that you want to achieve.
Sometimes it is desirable to evenly illuminate stores with little contrasts - and sometimes the opposite. However, generally, we work towards creating a dynamic and interesting retail space. Dark areas aren’t wrong as long as there is light correctly aimed at the products, signs and interior. This way you create a stimulating environment where customers' attention is directed towards the products and the surfaces that you want to emphasize.
